At ParkerJones Acoustics we have recently been conducting a lot of long term construction noise and vibration monitoring, at sites in Swindon and London.
Long term construction noise and vibration monitoring can be often be required in local authority areas where a Section 61 application is required (i.e. the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea – RBKC), or on any site where prolonged construction works occur right next to an occupied property, particularly if there is any risk of damage from vibration (rare – but better to be safe than sorry!)
Our state of the art Svantek system is able to monitor both noise and vibration simultaneously with one all in-one measurement meter.
The meter transmits continuously to a web portal so that we can view the data live. We’re also able to set up alerts that trigger an email or sms to us, the Contractor, and any other relevant parties – alerting when noise or vibration has exceeded a pre-agreed threshold (or is close to exceeding it), allowing the Contractor to stop works, inspect the problem, rectify the offending process causing the excess vibration/noise, and then continue working safely.
Our equipment can be powered by either mains power, a long term (month-long) battery, or solar panels.
