What are the main areas of Building Acoustic design?

Sound Insulation
Keeping the noise from our neighbours, colleagues, and classmates to a minimum.

Internal Noise Levels
Keeping external noise intrusion and building services noise under control and undisturbing.

Room Acoustics (Reverberation)
Controlling reverberation and echoes, limiting the build up of noise, and achieving good levels of speech intelligibility and speech privacy.
Building Acoustics Services
Sound Insulation Design
Sound insulation is critical in tackling noise disturbance from adjacent rooms and buildings. As experts in sound insulation, we work carefully to refine wall/floor constructions, whilst honing down construction details to minimise flanking sound. Whether it’s a new build or refurbishment project, our acoustic experts can help.
We work to Part E, BB93, HTM 08-01, BS 8233, BCO and BREEAM standards, depending on the project.
Room Acoustics (Reverberation)
Room acoustics are exceptionally important to achieving the right balance of sound energy, resulting in good levels of speech intelligibility, speech privacy, and internal noise. In performance spaces or multipurpose rooms, a varying room acoustics can be necessary, where different activities can have vastly different acoustic requirements. Our acoustic consultants can survey, model, and design your room.
Facade Noise Ingress (Internal Noise)
Mitigating against external noise into a building is important in ensuring a good night sleep, and a working/learning environment free of noise distractions. Our external noise surveys, followed by noise map modelling and a detailed facade assessment, aims to specify the right constructions for the facade, and find unique ways of naturally ventilating whilst retaining acoustic performance.
How can our Building Acoustic Consultants help?

Site Surveys
We can provide acoustic design advice for new builds or refurbishments/fit-outs. Our acoustic engineers can visit your site to figure out exactly what's going wrong, or conduct a noise survey at a greenfield site to assess the impact of the noise climate on the proposed building.

Sound Insulation Reviews
We can review all architectural drawings and specifications to minimise the flanking risks posed by raised floors, suspended ceilings, curtain walling, and mechanical ventilation systems.

Acoustic Modelling
We produce 3D acoustic models of complex spaces in order to properly assess reverberation time, background noise levels and speech privacy. This helps us communicate visually with our design team by producing rendered images showing what our proposals will actually look like.
Hire a Building Acoustic Specialist
ParkerJones Acoustics consultants are experienced in providing business to business acoustic consultancy support to all types of built environment projects across the UK, from our offices in London, Bristol, and Glasgow.
We regularly work on large residential or educational developments, down to small offices or specialist spaces such as recording studios, from design and build to retrospective actions for existing fit-outs.
We go the extra mile to achieve a design which is aesthetically pleasing, but importantly, sounds good. We can create rendered images to demonstrate how acoustic treatment and screening products might look in the finished development. We understand that the aesthetic of the space is a critical part of the interior design and that acoustic solutions must fit seamlessly into this. This includes liasing with acoustic treatment suppliers/installers to gauge the practical and cost implications of our proposed acoustic design solutions.

An Architectural Acoustic Consultant you can rely on
"ParkerJones Acoustics recently helped us to discharge a planning condition and was very professional and accommodating. Chris (director) worked alongside us to model various window configurations of the property to establish where acoustic mitigation measures were required. This enabled our client to address matters strategically rather than simply blanketing the whole site with the worst-case scenario, in turn saving our client time and money. I would not hesitate to recommend ParkerJones Acoustics and I look forward to working alongside him soon."
